SUMMER INTENSIVE
WORKSHOPS 2008
Zamuel Ballet School offers a professionally oriented ballet program with classes in technique, pointe, character, variations and choreography.
JULY INTENSIVE
Beginning (July 7 - July 31)
Monday - Thursday, four times a week, 4 weeks. Classes two hours a day (from 9:00 to 11:00)
Intermediate (July 7 - July 31)
Monday - Thursday, four times a week, 4 weeks. Classes three hours a day (from 11:00 to 2:00)
Advanced (July 7 - July 31)
Monday - Thursday, four times a week, 4 weeks. Classes four hours a day (from 9:30 to 1:30)
AUGUST INTENSIVE
Intermediate/Advanced (August 4 - August 16)
Monday - Saturday, six times a week, 2 weeks, Classes six hours a day (from 9:30 to 3:30)
TUITION:

Beginning $300
Intermediate $400
Advanced $700
August workshop: $800

HOUSING
Available through host families in Colorado Springs
$300/week for room, board, and local transportation

DEMONSTRATION
A demonstration performance is given in the studio at the conclusion of the July summer intensive workshop (July 28)
Friends and family are encouraged to attend
DRESS CODE
GIRLS: Ballet slippers and pointe shoes, Character shoes, tights and leotard (hair must be neatly secured)
BOYS: Ballet slippers, character shoes, tights, dance belt, T-shirt
Attire must be clean and neat
Leg warmers and fitted sweaters may be worn at first barre exercises
PLACEMENT
Students are placed in Intermediate/Advanced classes by the director
Those who live nearby may arrange a placement audition
Others may send a placement video of no more than ten minutes long in VHS format
It must show barre, center, and variations and be sent with a letter from the student's current ballet instructor
Generally, Beginning Intensives are designed for students over nine years of age who have approximately two years of training
Intermediate/Advanced Intensives are open to students who have a minimum of four years of training
